Operator
Job Description
As a member of our team, you will be expected to apply your skills in order to work on a range of projects from residential, commercial, and agricultural sites. Communicating both respectfully and efficiently with both the customer and your manager. Primary responsibilities will include operating heavy equipment and keeping up with the proper maintenance. Other activities will require assisting with labor, helping in the shop, snow removal in the winter, etc. While carefully following OSHA guidelines and excavating regulations. As a team based environment, you will be expected to work well with others and train new apprentices when necessary.
Responsibilites

Implement the proper safety standards and procedures following the OSHA guidelines

Weekly meetings with superiors focusing on progress reports and area of improvement

Must have the expertise to operate a variety of heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers, backhoes, etc.)

Must perform physical labor where needed

Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner

Ability to take direction from supervisor and cooperate with team to meet project goals

Perform preventative maintenance on a daily basis
Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator is required

Communicate effectively and be able to work in team based environments

Ability to pass a drug and physical labor test

Be able to understand and adapt to innovative technology

Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions

Class A CDL is encouraged but not required

Reliable transportation
-
Welding skills are a plus

Average 50 hours a week

Occasionally work Saturdays

Knowledge of the excavating industry and processes

Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints

Perform quality checks on construction equipment
