Foreman
Job Description
As a member of our team, you will be expected to apply your skills in order to work on a range of projects from residential, commercial, and agricultural sites. Communicating both respectfully and efficiently with both the customer and your manager. Primary responsibilities will include supervising a crew, managing job sites, and operating heavy equipment. Other activities will require assisting with labor when necessary, attending meetings, helping in the shop, snow removal in the winter, etc. While carefully following OSHA guidelines and excavating regulations. As a team based environment, you will be expected to work well with others and train new apprentices when necessary.
Responsibilites

Implement the proper safety standards and procedures following the OSHA guidelines

Supervise a crew and make sure the goals of each job location are being achieved productively and efficiently

Weekly meetings with superiors focusing on progress reports and area of improvement

Must have expertise to operate heavy equipment and perform physical labor where needed

Will be expected to train new employees and guide everyone to performing the proper procedures

Be the liaison between workers and supervisors

Solve disputes between workers in a professional manner

Assign tasks to workers

Ensure that the project is staying on or under budget

Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
Qualifications
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a foreman in the excavation field is required

Exceptional interpersonal skills
-
Must be a good team leader and be able to work in team based environments

Ability to pass a drug and physical labor test

Be able to understand and adapt to innovative technology
-
Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions

Class A CDL is encouraged but not required
-
Welding skills are a plus

Average 50 hours a week

Occasionally work Saturdays

Ability to organize a work schedule

Deep knowledge of the excavating industry and processes

Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints

Perform quality checks on construction equipment
